One hour of freedom
One hour of fantasy One hour of escapism One lonely hour Change is scary to some people It lives inside all of us Staying the same is safe even when it's not It's all about perspective and responsibility Life is blind Live it like your last Let yourself heal from the Wounds of your past Let them fly into the wind Get melted by the sun Let them burn and fizzle out Like meteors at night Rise like the heavens Fall like the snow Glow from within Change only what you can Let go of negativity See the World for what it is - An imperfect balance of radiance and sin Don't let yesterday poison today Take the blue pill and tell yourself you can begin Don't wait too long to start on all your dreams The sooner you start, the sooner they'll be So even if the last minute of this lonely hour draws near, Breathe in, relax Your future will be here And take a fucking day off from all that noise That paralyzes you into believing that there is no Other world than the one that has you trapped here. Don't go back.

She promises herself the world,
Everyday she says she’ll do that which she loves But let’s the time go by Until the moonlight says it’s too late, Try again the next day. But when the new day comes She can only barely finish the mundane tasks that are required of her To keep her life going until the next day Wash dishes, do laundry (if even), sweep the floor, Buy food (barely), make lunch (never) Nothing else ever gets done And she starts each week the same Knowing that 3 whole days went by in vain And wonders why she can’t ever do That which she says she’s going to do Stretch Blog Play And Sing Learn languages, play berimbau Read the dozens of books waiting to give her new inspiration And execute the life (she knows) she deserves to have But instead, when Monday comes, she drags herself sheepishly through the week Just hoping to make it to Friday So that she can begin The same weekend she’s always had The weekend that will never see her get anything that she loves done. |
